How we build websites
Building a website takes seven stages, from setting the goal to launch. Each has its own outcome and its own deadline: six stages with a fixed duration take 16 working days.
Goal
We define the niche, region and goals for an effective start
At the first stage we define the target region, the niche and the main goals of the site. It may be an online store, a service business, attracting customers to a physical address, online courses, a professional portfolio or a corporate site. Clear objectives make it possible to build an effective structure and growth strategy.
Spec
We write a detailed specification for the structure, features and design
Once the goals are set, we write the specification. It records the page structure, functionality, design, SEO requirements, enquiry forms, integrations and any project specifics. A well-written specification makes the cost calculable and the outcome predictable.
Contract
We draw up a contract with stages, deadlines and terms
Once the specification is agreed, we prepare the development contract. It sets out the stages of work, deadlines, cost, payment terms, guarantees and the obligations of both parties. This protects the client's interests and keeps the collaboration transparent at every stage.
SEO
We run SEO analysis, study competitors and select keywords
After the contract is prepared, SEO research and data gathering begin. We study competitors, analyse the structure of their sites, select keywords and assess their search volume. This helps us build a site that matches real search demand and attracts the right customers.
Structure
We build the site structure and the keyword map
From the gathered data we build the keyword map. We group queries by topic, page and service in order to shape the right structure for the future site. The finished map is agreed with the client before the next stage begins.
Content
We create the copy, photos, video and other site materials
Once the site structure is agreed, we prepare the content and materials based on the SEO strategy set out above. We write the page copy, select and process images, and prepare video, icons and other elements. This makes the site informative, visually appealing and comfortable to use.
Finish
Handover of rights, final settlement and project closure
The final stage covers handing over the finished site to the client together with all copyright and access credentials. After the work is reviewed, the final payment is made. The project is then complete and the client owns a fully working site, ready to launch, grow and promote.
How long does website development take
Six stages with a fixed duration add up to 16 working days. The seventh variable is content: if the copy and photos are ready, the site goes into production straight away; if not, we prepare them, and the timeline depends on the number of pages.
Deadlines are fixed in the contract before we start, so you know the launch date in advance instead of learning it along the way. Every stage ends with your approval: the specification, the keyword map, the copy — nothing moves on without your sign-off.
What you get at the end
A finished website, all the access credentials and the copyright to it, a report on the work done and the final settlement. From there the site can grow — with search engine optimisation or visibility in AI answers.
